Boris Dommenget

With Passion and Creativity onto the World’s Rock Stages

Guitar-maker Boris Dommenget is a craftsman by passion. His instruments end up on the biggest stages around the world. Renowned guitarists from Bon Jovi, Santana, Metallica, Status Quo, and the Scorpions play his instruments. As a child, he learned how to work with wood in his father’s carpentry workshop — laying the foundation for his later career. At the age of 17, Boris Dommenget began his training at the Hopf company as a luthier and fulfilled his lifelong dream—holding his first self-built guitars in his hands.

Boris Dommenget and the Search for Perfection

After completing his training, Boris Dommenget was drawn to London. There, he built guitars but also restored antique wooden furniture. His creativity truly flourished through his work with wood. Violin making reached its pinnacle with Antonio Stradivari, who created the perfect violin. According to Dommenget, guitar making is still searching for its ultimate standard — this is what drives him.

Recognition from the World’s Greatest Guitarists

Boris not only builds guitars—he plays them as well. In his younger years, the creative mind aspired to a career as a guitarist and played in various rock bands. It is this passion for craftsmanship and music that customers from all over the world can feel. He built around 100 guitars for the Scorpions alone.

Now, together with Hopf Electric Guitars, Boris continues this journey—shaped by a deep bond to his mentor Dieter Hopf and driven by a shared passion to carry this legacy into the future.

With Vision and Craftsmanship – Masterbuilder Nick Page

Masterbuilder Nick Page is one of the most distinctive voices in modern guitar making. Known for combining traditional craftsmanship with bold artistic design, his instruments are more than tools—they are expressive, characterful works built to inspire musicians.

Page’s path into luthiery was unconventional. Through hands-on repair work and practical experience, he developed a deep understanding of materials, construction, and tone. This background shaped his philosophy: respecting vintage traditions while reinterpreting them with his own creative approach.

The Pursuit of Authenticity

At the core of his work lies authenticity. Inspired by the golden eras of the 1950s and 1960s, Page focuses on every detail—from neck shape to finish—to ensure his guitars feel and sound right.

His designs range from classic-inspired models to bold, artistic pieces, often featuring striking finishes, relic aging, or unique materials. Each guitar reflects a balance between tradition, innovation, and individuality.

A Recognizable Signature

Often described as a free spirit in the luthier scene, Nick Page has built a reputation for originality and independence. His guitars stand out visually, sonically, and in their feel—offering vintage character with modern reliability.

Now, alongside Hopf Electric Guitars, Nick continues the journey—uniting tradition and innovation to create guitars that tell their own story.
